Safety & Health Officer (LSS)

Ensures safety compliance at solar project sites. Identifies hazards, enforces safety policies, and conducts training. Collaborates with project teams to maintain a safe work environment and meet regulatory requirements.

Job description

  • Support the development of OHS policies and programs.
  • Advise and instruct on various safety-related topics (noise levels, use of machinery etc.).
  • Conduct risk assessment and enforce preventative measures.
  • Review existing policies and measures and update according to legislation.
  • Initiate and organize OHS training of employees and executives.
  • Inspect premises and the work of personnel to identify issues or non-conformity (e.g. not using protective equipment).
  • Oversee installations, maintenance, disposal of substances etc.
  • Stop any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy.
  • Record and investigate incidents to determine causes and handle worker’s compensation claims.
  • Prepare reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to upper management.
  • Preparing Project Health and Safety Plan (PSP).
  • Preparing Emergency Response Plan (ERP).
  • Preparing Project Environment Management Plan (PEMP).
  • Coordination Meeting and HSE Meeting.
  • HSE Performance Statistic Report based on HSE walkabout.
  • HSE Report.
  • Environmental Report.
  • Monthly Progress Safety Report as requirement and submit to local authority, CIDB, JKKP etc.
  • Safety Minute of meeting.
  • Toolbox talk arrange on weekly basic.
  • Assist and complied with latest standard operating procedures (SOP) related to COVID-19.
  • Liaise with local authority and inspection during their visit on site.
  • Attend the client and consultant meeting.

Job requirements

  • Candidate must possess at least Diploma in Environment/ Health/ Safety or equivalent approved by DOSH Green Book Holder / NIOSH – TNB Safety Passport (NTSP).
  • Candidate must be well versed with Occupational Health, Safety & Environmental.
  • Candidate must be certified Safety and Health Officer at least 5 years safety and health working experience.
  • Able to perform and handle multiple tasks at one time.
  • Required language(s): Bahasa Malaysia, English, Mandarin.
